Who I am
I'm a licensed clinical psychologist, which means I have a PhD in clinical psychology and am licensed to provide psychological services in California (CA #32514).
My passion is to help people take back control from anxiety and live the life they want. In my free time, I enjoy drawing, music, and exploring the beauty of Santa Cruz with my dog, Amy.
What I do
I specialize in treating adults with anxiety disorders and OCD. I also treat concerns that commonly show up alongside anxiety (for example, low mood and depression, poor sleep and insomnia, difficulties with relationships and work, and general stress management).
How I work
I use evidence-based treatments, like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure and responsive prevention (ERP). Evidence-based treatments are psychotherapies that have been tested in clinical research trials (just like medications) to ensure that they are effective.
In short - working with me involves getting to the root of the thinking and behavior habits that can keep you stuck, then learning and practicing skills to break those habits. I try to help you reach your goals as few sessions as possible, aiming to help you become your own therapist over time.
Where I work
I offer therapy sessions via telehealth (i.e., secure video conferencing, which is available to anyone in the state of California). I do not currently offer in-person sessions.
Payment for services
My services are paid privately (i.e., I am not an in-network provider for insurance companies). If your insurance provides out-of-network coverage, you may be able to receive full or partial reimbursement for the session fees.
I recognize that receiving therapy in the private sector is a considerable financial investment that is not feasible for many. For this reason, I keep a limited number of sliding-scale slots of individuals with limited financial means – please inquire.
